Burn Notice.

Here's the synopsis (courtesy of Wikipedia):

The title refers to the burn notices issued by intelligence agencies, which discredit or announce the dismissal of agents or sources. The television series follows agent Michael Westen (played by Jeffrey Donovan), who is abandoned by all his normal intelligence contacts. Unsure why he's been "burned," he begins to work as a freelance spy and investigator as he tries to find out what happened.

So yeah, the show also stars Gabrielle Anwar (as Fiona, Michael's ex-girlfriend and a former IRA operative), Bruce Campbell (as Sam Axe, an old spy friend of Michael's), and Sharon Gless (as Michael's mom).

The characters are very nicely developed even 2 episodes in, and work really well off one another. You really won't find a show that hits all the right notes for what sort of things I look for in a TV show - straightforward plotting, a little comedy, and characters that don't feel like forced cookie-cutter versions of everything out there.

They'll be airing the episodes a few times over the weekend, so make sure to catch it when you can (it's on USA Network). Definitely one of the best shows on the air right now.
