I just heard a huge explosion from a couple of doors down - it looks like a pickup truck barreled into one of the homes down the street. Flames and bodies everywhere. I can't see out very well through the windows since I've got them boarded up now. I'm hoping my internet connection will hold out through the evening so I can keep people posted on what's going on.
I just got a couple of emails from concerned friends wanting to know if I was OK... I'm fine. I should be good here for a few more hours, and hopefully once things settle down I can go looking for survivors and see who else in my area has made it through this ... whatever it is. I wish I could think of a better term than zombies for what's going on out there, but that's about what it sounds like, so I'll leave it at that.
Anyways, I should probably eat something, keep up my strength. If the situation here gets worse, I'm going to need all I can get.
