Sad day for Dr. Who fans

Just announced:

David Tennant announces he will leave Dr. Who after the 2009/2010 tv specials.

Now I guess speculation is who will replace him. Granted, 4-5 years is a long time to play a single character. While I'll miss his version of the Doctor, I can't say I'm surprised he announced this.

I've been hearing whispers of a few people ... the guy who played Lyndon the IT guy on Green Wing ... and one other whom I can't remember. But who knews. The new Who people like their red herrings. io9.com has a bunch of stuff about it I think.
