Okay, well I guess I should probably post something here since people are likely wondering what the hell happened to me :)
Like I've said before - things in Ohio are great. It's going along slowly and I've been here about 3 months now, and it feels like I've belonged here all my life. My girlfriend's ex not withstanding, her son is a pretty good kid and fairly easy to deal with for the most part (he's mildly autistic, so that's presented a few challenges).
We spent the 4th of July over in Mason watching Huey Lewis and the News. I took some pictures, which I will likely upload to my Flickr account and link to here.
I've just been keeping pretty quiet because things have been moving along at a leisurely pace, and while I don't always respond to people here, I still do read quite a bit and do my best to keep up.
Oh, and I guess I should mention the big news - I proposed to my girlfriend on July 1st, and she accepted. We're tentatively shooting for next October 1st, but that depends on a number of factors (finances, employment etc.)
Other than that? I couldn't be happier.
Sad to hear about the passing of the wonderful
vorona, or Ivy Green as many of us knew her. I met her back in 1999 and she was such a wonderful person to talk to. While we hadn't really spoken over the years, I would always try and make an attempt to say hello whenever I saw her. She really did have a huge impact on a lot of people's lives, and really was a great sounding board for a lot of people. Outspoken and generous to a fault, she was more than willing to help out if someone needed her assistance. She will definitely be missed.
Alright, that's enough of my jabbering. I'll try and post more often, I promise :)

Date: 2009-07-06 09:07 am (UTC)I'm also glad to hear you still like Ohio. I used to live in Ft Wayne, IN and I'll tell ya, after a while... Well, the only thing that I found interesting were the Amish. And OMG they can bake a PIE! Anyway, I'm so glad you like Ohio! :)
