Get Smart

You know, I was a bit worried when I heard they were making a Get Smart movie.

The teaser trailer I just found does put my fears at ease though. It seems like it has elements of the classic series mixed in with some new stuff.

Well, judge for yourself. It will probably be crap anyways (knowing Hollywood) but at least the teaser trailer was funny.

i haven't watched it yet, i tend to stay away from trailers unless in the movie theater :D

Still, yeah, as much as I like Arkin, and think The Rock is fun, this just looks like another McHale's Navy, you know? Fun 60's TV turned into big budget, overdone, and ultimately stupid flick.

My heart is breaking as I type this, because Carell could as least sound like Don Adams, but they seem to have gotten the humor down. So we shall see.

The rest of the cast though... eeeh.

Well we don't get much from the teaser, sadly, but I'm sure as more trailers are released we'll see how well he does. They definitely have the humor down. The beaded curtain bit and the throwing the telephone were classic style gags. I just hope they don't go over the top with it.
